Things to consider - Pre existing health conditions
Look into the medical cover carefully to see whether any existing medical conditions you have may not be covered. Things generally covered range from asthma, to ear grommets to hay fever etc. Each provider will specify what they do and don’t cover. - Conditions of places you are travelling to
These days you can get things like terrorism cover, or evacuation cover if you are travelling to particular parts of the world. Considering all options and situations is a must! - Restrictions with existing cover
If you decide to go with any existing cover you have, make sure to check it fully covers all the areas you are travelling to. Find out any restrictions it may have and double check it’s enough for what you plan to do. - If anything is stolen report it straight away
This ensures when you go to make a claim you have a paper trail and proof to show your insurance provider - Always have a photocopy!
Make sure to photocopy all paperwork like insurance policies, emergency contact numbers and passports etc that you take with you. That way if anything gets lost or stolen you won’t be stuck without identification or the information you need to get help or make a claim. - Websites to check out
