RBA makes rate cuts crystal clear

The minutes of the Reserve bank board meeting from August show that the bank intends to cut rates at its September board meeting. Analysts said the RBA had made its intentions crystal clear.

Growth in the amount of money Australians owe their banks and other lenders has slumped to its lowest level since 1993. Credit growth was up just 1.3 per cent in the June quarter to $1.85 trillion after many years of very high growth rates.
